RandomEyes is a unique application that produces an infinite number of randomized eye charts to offer a rough but useful screen of visual acuity. Simply tap the image of the die to randomize the entire eye chart, or touch an individual line on the chart to randomize that series of letters.

Eye care professionals around the world use Snellen Eye Charts to measure visual acuity. However, patients often memorize the classic Snellen chart, leading to less accurate vision measurements. Enter RandomEyes! Though this unique, pocket sized randomized eye chart should not be used as a primary visual acuity measuring tool, it can provide a handy rough vision screen when a chart is not available, or it can be used to complement static, wall-based Snellen charts.

RandomEyes was made with the best of intentions, and we hope to continue improving it. Your feedback is appreciated!

Pros and cons of EyeChart RandomEyes app for iPhone and iPad

EyeChart RandomEyes app good for

This is a great app for checking vision. The randomly generated chart allows you to avoid the problem of people memorizing your eye chart, making it a really handy tool. Simple, easy to use interface, as well.
Quick and easy, the app is perfect for checks outside the office when a full eyechart may not be available. Also, the easy ability to randomize the list allows you to check more than the standard number of letters, allowing for more accurate results.
Ive been a fan of EyeChart and used it more than a few times to trend visual acuity for my hospitalized patients. Obviously the big hang-up when you use a static exam is that the patients commit it to memory (intentional or not) pretty quickly. This is a *big improvement* in that regard. Thanks so much for putting this out there!
Another simple and useful app from Dok - beyond being portable, the randomization feature makes this even more useful than a normal eye chart. The animations look great too!
Slick medical application with an intuitive user interface; it delivers exactly what it promises: a simple way to check ones vision on-the-go. I was skeptical at first, and pleasantly surprised afterward - glad I downloaded it.

Some bad moments

If you are already on iOS 9, dont bother to download because it doesnt work. App hasnt been updated since 2009... Its dead !!!
The letters become pixelated on retina display. So useless until updated.
